FAQ
Do you need access to GSC to index websites on behalf of clients?
Yes, for URL Monitor to work we need the access point through Google Search Console.
Can I add multiple GSC accounts with Tier 1 or should I have a higher tier for this?
Tier 2 and above unlocks the Team Seats (multiple GSC accounts).
Is there a way to add more than 100 sites later if needed?
Yes, you technically can add as many sites as you’d like via GSC, however, it would just be a customer control function (depending on license) for which ones you’d like to have enabled for indexing.
How to add additional sites?
The connection point is through your Google Search Console account. When sites are added there, just hit the REFRESH button on your dashboard (/sites) and then you are good to go!
Does this include API documentation to automate it with Zapier or make.com after we publish a blog article on our website?
It does not currently, but that is something we will definitely add in the future for automatic indexing.
Can I use this tool to index backlinks?
This has been requested and I believe is one of our top upvotes, so we will definitely be taking a look and figuring out where in the current roadmap to build this.
Can it track backlinks and whether they are indexed? If not, do you have plans for this?
This has been requested and I believe is one of our top upvotes, so we will definitely be taking a look and figuring out where in the current roadmap to build this.
If I update one of my posts, does your software automatically pick it up and resubmit to GSC?
It really depends on the setup of your site and sitemap. Everyone has a unique set up that could be slightly different in terms of sitemaps than others (generally different plugins). Our process is that we check for sitemap updates every 4 hrs for new activity.
How often is the sitemap updated?
Sitemap pull is every 4 hours from your sitemap in GSC. We are working on some new features there with sitemaps that frequently change (jobs – on/off all the time).
Can you index this type of site?
Do you have a sitemap submitted to Google Search Console?
What about updated pages?
Google doesn’t always index automatically new pages. And the reason is not necessarily because of thin content. A lot of pages with thin content can be indexed on a website, just because they answer to a specific question.
Can 1 website use all submitted pages?
Yes, 1 website can use all of your quota if you want it to.
Can I use the tool to index URLs outside of the website?
Currently no, it is just for your own sitemaps. I do believe we will have that in the future though.
Does it automatically fix current pages that haven’t been Google-indexed or do you have to manually fix all the indexing issues?
No, this software is not designed to fix pages (content, structure, layout, etc) that are having issues being indexed. We highlight them and automate the process to send them constantly and consistently back to be indexed with Google, but no on-page fixes.
