FAQ
Does Pickaxe have an API built so that we can easily connect data from external sources into the documentation or retrieve data from our system through the API?
Not yet, but we are building this. It is in the early stages. It is a complicated feature to build and are beta-testing it with some customers.
If I buy License Tier 1, Can I select Claude 3.5 sonnet or GPT 4o without additional cost?
Yes, you can select those models at no additional costs. All models cost 1 credit to use if you are not using your own API key.
Can I use my own credit of GPT-O? I already have an account, so is it possible to parameter everything on my end?
Yes, you can use your own OpenAI API Key. Once you create a tool there is management page called the “control panel” and you can select whether to use credits or API key(s).
Why only Stripe option?
That’s the only payment processor we’ve integrated with. We want to ensure we do each integration thoroughly and successfully, so we want to make sure we perfect one before adding others. Stripe is very secure.
How do you define a “studio”?
A studio is a web container for Pickaxes. It includes a landing page, a home page, & a separate page for each Pickaxe in the studio. Studios let you monetize and keep track of users By default they are hosted at a pickaxe domain, but you can host them at custom domains. Every studio shows up in your dashboard. This blog post explains studios in more depth: read more here.
What is the difference between using credits and your own OpenAI API Key?
1 credit equals 1 use. Every time you push the “submit” or “test” button to run your Pickaxe, you use one credit. If you embed a Pickaxe in a website or put it in a studio, every time anyone runs the tool, it uses one of your credits. If you enter your own API key into a tool, it stops using credits and just charges your API key directly.
Can I integrate with PayPal or other payment gateways?
Currently, Stripe is the only payment processor we’ve integrated with. We are looking at other options but there isn’t a timeline on this.
Are there limits on the number of documents I can upload?
You can upload up to 50 documents per tool, each up to 90mb in size. Studios can have unlimited tools.
Can I create a chatbot that can work with images?
You cannot feed images in as a knowledge base. However, if the photos are already hosted online somewhere, our chatbots can render images within a chat. This help post explains in detail: read more here.
Is there a way to install advertising pixels with Pickaxe Studio?
Currently, there is not a way to install advertising pixels within a Studio. Maybe in the future.
Does Pickaxe support fine-tuning or prompt engineering?
You cannot do fine-tuning in the sense you can do directly at other model providers. But we allow many alternatives like RAG, Training dialogue, prompt design, injections, etc.
Can I build agentic workflows in a Pickaxe, where the output from one prompt is automatically fed into another prompt? Can those workflows include if/then statements or loops?
Currently, you cannot build agentic workflows within Pickaxe. This is coming within a 6-month timeline.
If you add your OpenAI API key, does the platform use the included monthly credits first and then use our OpenAI API key for the overages?
No, the tool will directly start working off of your API key.
Can I change the word “Pickaxe” in all my embedded assistants?
You can title your Pickaxes however you want. You should be able to change “Pickaxe” to a different term of your choice in the prompts.
Will future updates to ChatGPT’s models (to 4.5, 5.0, etc.) be made available in the lifetime deal?
Future model additions may or may not be included in the lifetime deal, depending on costs and other factors. If you have success with your tools under the deal but want to move to newer models, you’d just have to upgrade to a month-to-month plan.
