Yes, you can. You don’t have to generate the AI voiceover; you can directly publish the video without using “Generate Voice”.
Is the ability to trim video available?
Currently, there is no built-in way to trim videos directly within the platform. However, we’re working on this feature and plan to include it in future updates.
How many knowledge bases can I create with Tier 2?
In Tier 2, you can host up to 5 knowledge bases, each with its own separate domain if needed.
What does 1 credit account for?
1 credit is used for 1 video and guide generation, with the standard voiceover. If you choose a premium voiceover, 1 additional credit will be used.
Can I record across multiple browser tabs in one guide?
Yes, you can share the “Window” while recording different tabs. However, switching between desktop apps and browsers requires our upcoming native app.
Can I use Kroto for non-software tutorials?
While the current design is optimized for software tutorials, you can use the tool for other types of guides, but some features may not fully apply.
Is there a plan to support AI-generated custom voices?
We’re considering this feature for the future, and it could be added to our roadmap based on demand and feasibility.
Can knowledge bases be self-hosted?
You can’t host the entire knowledge base yourself but can embed individual guides and videos on your site.
How do you ensure the sustainability of unlimited credit plans?
We have structured our service to gain enough recurring customers to cover the costs associated with maintaining unlimited credit offerings.
Can clients create and download their recordings?
Currently, clients cannot create and download recordings without being added as collaborators on a specific knowledge base.
What are the limits for hosting knowledge bases with different tiers?
Tier 1: 0 KB, Tier 2: 5 KB, Tier 3: 10 KB, Tier 4: 15 KB, Tier 5: 40 KB, with each KB able to have custom domains.
Can Kroto be used for long-form content?
As of now, we recommend breaking long tutorials into shorter ones, but we aim to support longer content in the future with native apps.
Can clients view tutorials without logging in, but not being indexed by search engines?
We are working on implementing an option for KBs to not allow indexing by search engines which should be added soon.
Is there an estimated delivery date for the Mac/Windows app?
We aim to have a stable release within a couple of months; a prototype will be available soon.
