FAQ

Does CloudStick help me set up Google’s free tier e2-micro VM instance (Compute Engine)? Will it work with that?

We can help you on setting up Google Cloud VMs, but if you have plans to host emails on Google Cloud, I don’t think they will allow you! You might consider using any other provider such as Vultr or Racknerd.

Can websites be moved between different servers from the main dashboard? Does staging and production websites have 2-way pull-push (sync changes) functionality?

You can move websites between different servers using the clone feature, but the sync functionality is unavailable (I mean staging site). This is an upcoming feature for sure.

Can I use the Tier 1 plan (29 USD) to host unlimited emails, i.e., to use it as my email host?

Yes, it is possible. You have to add the domain in the server to create an email account, but you don’t need to point the A record to the server.

Will you add OpenLiteSpeed? If yes, will it be included in this plan on AppSumo?

Yes, it is an ongoing task – https://roadmap.cloudstick.io.

When you say 10 GB Backup, where are these backups stored? Will they be stored in CloudStick server or in the same server (my server)?

The backups are stored in remote cloud storage. If you need more backup space, then you have to deposit account credit in your account using the page subscription, then go to backup, and change the plan as per your requirement.

Will your solution support future updates to WordPress, themes, and plugins?

It can be considered, but currently, there is no such feature available.

Is this an alternative to cPanel?

Yes, it is an alternative to WHM/cPanel.

Do you have plans to implement Docker 1-click install apps from the available list? If you have this, I will purchase the full tier.

Docker development will be starting in Q4 and would be ready by 2025 Q1.

I have a tiny 3 GB Ubuntu VPS, a supported version. What do you think I could realistically support in terms of small and low-traffic WordPress sites?

Please take a backup somewhere safe before reinstalling, then install Ubuntu 20.04/22.04 LTS version and you can install CloudStick. A 3GB server is more than enough to serve your website.

Is the whitelabel going to be an added cost? If so, how much?

There will be no add-on cost for AppSumo Pro (Plan 3) customers.

What data centers does it support?

You can connect the servers from Digital Ocean, Linode, Vultr, AWS, Google Cloud, SSDNode, Hetzner dedicated server, any KVM-based servers except Hetzner cloud servers. We support Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04, and 22.04 LTS versions only.

Can I install Ghost CMS with this? How so?

You can install Ghost CMS on a CloudStick server. You can open a ticket and we can help you with the technical issue you have with Ghost. Also, you can request this feature in our wishlist and gather votes for this: https://roadmap.cloudstick.io/.

When will you have LiteSpeed & OpenLiteSpeed?

It will be available in the future, as we are currently fixing a security issue with OpenLiteSpeed. Once it’s fixed, it will become live.

Does it support ARM-Based Cloud Servers?

ARM is not yet supported.
